Choose your AI assistant: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot
By the end of this guide, you know which AI assistant fits your business, which plan you need and what it costs in CHF. Time needed: 10 minutes to read, 30 minutes to try two of them.
All four write emails, summarise documents, translate and work with spreadsheets. They differ in where they live, what they cost and where your data goes. For a team, use a business plan: you control who uses it, you get a business contract, and your data isn’t used for training by default.

Sources for “Where data is stored” and the last three rows: data location (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft); files (OpenAI, Anthropic: Google, Anthropic: Microsoft, Microsoft); repeat a job (Install a BizzyAI skill).
Swiss German: Microsoft and Google don’t list Swiss German as supported (Microsoft, Google). Write to all four in Standard German.
Pick this if
- You use Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams): start with Copilot Chat, already in your plan at no extra cost (Microsoft Learn). Add Copilot Business for people who need Copilot to work with their emails, calendar and files.
- You use Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Docs): use Gemini. Business Standard and higher include it in Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Meet and Drive. Business Starter has only basic access (Google Workspace pricing).
- You use Google Workspace but prefer ChatGPT or Claude: both can read Google Drive and Gmail. Claude offers this on every plan (Claude Help). In ChatGPT it depends on your plan and region (OpenAI Help).
- You use Microsoft 365 but prefer ChatGPT or Claude: ChatGPT can read SharePoint, Outlook and Teams. Claude can on Team or Enterprise, after a one-off setup by whoever manages your Microsoft 365 (Claude Help).
- Your team already uses ChatGPT privately: move them to ChatGPT Business. Same app, but you control the accounts and your data isn’t used for training.
- You want to install BizzyAI skills on a personal plan: choose Claude Pro. ChatGPT offers skills only on Business, Enterprise and Edu (OpenAI Help). For a team, Claude Team and ChatGPT Business both support skills.
- Data must stay in Switzerland: look at the Swiss options below first.
- You’re on your own and want to start for free: use the free version of any of them for green data only (see What you can safely share with AI). Switch off training first.
How to try two before you buy (30 minutes)
-
Choose two candidates from the “Pick this if” list.
-
Sign in with a free or trial account. Microsoft offers a free trial of Copilot Business (Microsoft Switzerland). Google offers a 14-day trial of Google Workspace, which includes Gemini (Google Workspace pricing). With Microsoft 365 Business, open Copilot Chat at microsoft365.com/chat with your work account.

Example: Claude’s pricing page at claude.com/pricing. Start with the Free plan. Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax.
-
Give both the same three real tasks, word for word, with no personal data:
Task 1: Reply in French, “vous” form, under 80 words, to this German customer email. Use only the facts in it. [paste email] Task 2: Summarise the attached supplier offer in five bullet points: price in CHF, VAT, contract length, notice period, anything unusual. [attach offer] Task 3: Turn these meeting notes into an action list: who, what, by when (DD.MM.YYYY). [paste notes]
Attach the offer from OneDrive in Copilot or Google Drive in Gemini, or upload it in ChatGPT or Claude (see Ask AI well).

Compare the answers with the check in Check AI answers before you use them.
-
Pick one. Buy business seats only for people who will use it every week. Then install a skill and shape it to your business (Customise a skill).
For Swiss businesses
- Infomaniak Euria (Geneva): Infomaniak says Euria is “hosted exclusively in Switzerland” and that your data is “neither saved nor used to train AI”. It can be tried for free and is part of kSuite Pro for businesses (Infomaniak).
- Proton Lumo (Geneva), with the Swiss model Apertus: Lumo is Proton’s AI assistant. Proton says Lumo for Business never uses your data to train AI (Proton). Since 17 September 2026, Lumo offers Apertus 1.5, the open model built by EPFL, ETH Zurich and the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (ETH Zurich).
- Microsoft 365 set up in Switzerland: if your Microsoft 365 account was set up in Switzerland, Microsoft commits to store email, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot data in Switzerland (Microsoft Learn). Switzerland is also inside Microsoft’s EU Data Boundary (Microsoft Learn).
- Google Workspace: on Business Standard and above, your admin can choose to store data, including Gemini chats, in Europe or the US, not Switzerland. Choosing where data is processed needs Enterprise Plus or Frontline Plus (Google Workspace Admin Help, editions).
- ChatGPT with European storage: only for new ChatGPT Enterprise customers, not Business. Europe here covers the EEA and Switzerland (OpenAI Help).
