Your first AI agent, Meta's Muse and AI shoppers at Shopify checkouts

Archive · Issue of 2 October 2026

Hi,

October is about operations: the repeat jobs that eat your week. This issue hands the first one to an AI agent that works in your own apps, reads and prepares, and leaves the sending and paying to you. First, the three stories that mattered between 25 September and 1 October.

📰 The big three

1. Meta opens its Muse agent to small businesses (not here yet)

Meta launched Muse for Small Business on 29 September. It connects to Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks, Slack, Canva and your Meta ad accounts, and is free with usage limits. Meta’s announcement says it is available in the US and Canada only.

So what for your business? Nothing to do yet. Decide now which data you’d let an agent see, and which you wouldn’t. Read the article

2. AI agents can now pay at Shopify checkouts

Since 28 September, AI agents running in a shopper’s browser can complete checkout on eligible Shopify stores, including Shop Pay, once the buyer confirms. Merchants don’t need to set anything up.

So what for your business? Agents read text, not pictures. Check that your ten best sellers show price in CHF, sizes, stock, delivery time and returns as plain text. Read the article

3. Swiss staff use AI daily more than most, but feel less ready

PwC’s survey of 49,364 workers found 64% used AI at work last year, but only 51% can get the training they need. In the Swiss cut, 28% use generative AI daily (22% globally), yet only 19% know which skills they’ll need.

So what for your business? Ask your team what they use AI for, then write a one-page policy. Read the article

🔒 This week’s guide (Members)

Your first AI agent: a Monday invoice briefing that prepares itself. Eight steps in Claude Cowork, about an hour. Every Monday, the agent reads new supplier invoices in OneDrive and gives you one table with due dates, VAT checks and a warning when bank details change. It never pays. ChatGPT version included. Read the guide

🔒 Tool review (Members)

AI agents compared: Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Work and Microsoft Copilot Cowork. Verdict: most Swiss teams should start with Claude Cowork on a Team plan. ChatGPT Work suits teams already on ChatGPT. Copilot Cowork only if you already pay for Microsoft 365 Copilot. Read the review

🔍 Feature deep dive (🔒 Members)

Claude Cowork, explained. What it does, the plan you need (from about CHF 17 a month, or CHF 14 billed yearly), and the four features worth knowing: scheduled tasks, projects, standing instructions and skills. Plus three ready-to-paste tasks and the limits to respect. Read the deep dive

🧩 Skills of the week (🔒 Members)

  • Inbox triage: sorts your emails into reply today, waiting, for information and junk, with a reason and next step for each.
  • Supplier invoice extractor: lists supplier, amounts, VAT, due date and payment reference from your invoices, and flags anything unclear. Never pays.

🔒 Template of the week (Members)

Five starter tasks for your AI agent: the Monday invoice briefing, a morning inbox triage, a Friday open-quotes list, a weekly team summary and a monthly price watch. Each with a copy-paste instruction, the tool it suits and the human check before anything goes out. Get the template

📊 One number

28%. The share of Swiss workers who use generative AI every day, against 22% globally (PwC Switzerland). If you haven’t asked your team how they use it, that’s this week’s conversation.
