Morning briefing: turn your inbox, calendar and to-dos into a one-page plan for the day

You open your laptop to a full inbox, back-to-back meetings and a to-do list, and the first hour goes on working out where to start. The morning briefing skill turns your emails, calendar and to-dos into one page: what to do first today, what’s waiting on others and what can wait.

What it does

  • Reads the emails, calendar entries and to-dos you paste in. If your email or calendar is connected to Claude or ChatGPT, it reads them there, read-only.
  • Sorts every item into three groups: “Do first today”, “Waiting on others” and “Can wait”.
  • Orders “Do first today” by deadline, then by your priority rule. The default is customer problems first, then money, then internal items.
  • Lists today’s meetings with the time, who is there and what to prepare, if your sources say.
  • Flags clashes and gaps under “Watch out”: overlapping meetings, a deadline with no time blocked, an email to answer before a meeting.
  • Uses only dates from your sources. “By Friday” becomes a real date with the working shown (“Friday = 09.10.2026”). If it can’t tell, it writes “date unclear”.
  • Fits on one screen, one line per item, and says where each item came from (email, calendar or to-do).
  • Leaves out health and HR details from emails and writes “personal matter, see email” instead.
  • Uses Swiss defaults: dates like 09.10.2026, times like 14:00, CHF, and a note to check your canton when a date is near a public holiday.

It reads and drafts only. It never sends, accepts, declines, deletes, archives or moves anything.

When to use it

  • Every morning, before you start answering emails.
  • You’re back from holiday or a few days on site, and the inbox is full.
  • A day full of meetings, and you need to know what to prepare for each one.
  • You want a daily summary of “what’s on today” without a new app.
